The National Card and Payment Scheme, with its mission to develop Bulgarian script in the digital age, is implementing a series of projects aimed at reviving the handwriting of historical Bulgarian figures. The creation of digital fonts inspired by the manuscripts of Vasil Levski, Hristo Botev, and Georgi Sava Rakovski is part of the initiatives to promote Bulgarian Cyrillic in the modern world.

On November 8, 2024, at the “G. S. Rakovski” Military Academy in Sofia, the unique project for digitizing the handwriting of the prominent Bulgarian revolutionary and educator Georgi S. Rakovski was presented. The event gathered over 160 distinguished guests, including representatives from the media, financial and banking organizations, as well as partners of the National Card and Payment Scheme (NCPS). The elegant atmosphere was enhanced by a delicate musical performance on violin and piano, creating a fitting setting for marking this significant cultural initiative.

On June 2, 2023, the Day of Botev and those who perished for Bulgaria’s freedom, the digitized handwriting of Hristo Botev was presented at the community center in the town of Dragoman. The event, organized in honor of the patron’s day of “Hristo Botev” Secondary School, brought together students, teachers, parents, and local residents. It marked the beginning of a national initiative to promote the font in Bulgarian schools.
As part of this effort, special educational kits were created to present Botev’s life and legacy in an engaging and accessible way. More than 100 schools have already received these materials, aiming to inspire students through the authentic handwriting of the great poet and revolutionary.

На 24 юни 2021 г. официално беше представен дигитализираният почерк на Васил Левски – първият проект, част от значимата инициатива, посветена на съхраняването на историческото ни наследство в дигиталния свят. Денят започна със специално събитие за медиите, в което фокусът беше поставен върху процеса по дигитализация и културната стойност на проекта. Вечерта, посветена и на 5-годишнината на НКПС, партньори и клиенти се събраха в лятната градина на хотел „Хилтън“ за изискано тържество в елегантна атмосфера с джаз музика, светлинни ефекти и много настроение. До края на годината шрифтът беше представен и в избрани български училища, носещи името на Апостола, вдъхновявайки младите поколения чрез неговия автентичен почерк.
