




Traditionally, every year BORICA prepares advertising materials dedicated to the topic of Bulgaria. With them, the banking organization shows interesting and little-known facts about the country. Related to Bulgarian traditions and customs, unique natural and cultural landmarks, as well as thematic personalities and events that are an occasion for national pride. Among the advertising materials the main place is occupied by the calendars, which contain unique texts and photos according to the chosen topic.
In the middle of last year BORICA invited us to participate in a competition to choose a common theme of advertising materials for 2021. The assignment was creative. The proposed topics had to be in line with the spirit and values of the company and, of course, to be refracted through the prism of Bulgarian symbolism.
The task:
In addition to the task of choosing a suitable topic, Smarketink was also involved in the selection of a subcontractor. He was to produce BORICA advertising materials for 2021. This included the production of an image, desktop and work calendar, as well as a notebook and a cup with a general theme.
The interesting task inspired our whole team and we started to generate different ideas. After carefully selecting them, we decided to offer BORICA a total of three topics. One of them was for the reserves in Bulgaria. Behind our idea was the presentation of the topic in an interesting and different way from the hitherto known calendars of natural landmarks and reserves. Our proposal included the simultaneous presentation of beautiful and spectacular photos of protected areas in Bulgaria, combined with a short text that will bring inspiration and educational value to the recipient of the calendar.
After careful analysis and detailed presentation of the idea on our part, we won the competition and the topic “Reserves in Bulgaria” was approved by the BORICA team. So, the team of Smartink immersed us in the beauty and charm of some of the protected areas and species of animals and plants in our country. As well as in the overall preparation of advertising materials for clients for 2021.
What did we do:
We started with a detailed study of the reserves in the country. Our first task was to choose 12 of them. They had to be included in the calendars and at the same time be conceptually appropriate for the seasons. For this purpose we conducted a number of consultations with specialists from the Ministry of Environment and Water, BAS and environmental organizations and got acquainted with the terminology and classification of protected areas. After choosing which emblematic reserves to include in the project, we moved on to the study of animal and plant species.
In parallel with the research, we started preparing the creative part of the project. We decided to present each of the reserves with a landscape shot and a shot of a protected animal or plant. To provide appropriate images, we sought the services of proven names in natural photography. At the same time, we started writing short informative texts for each of the reserves. We used reliable sources of information and consulted with specialists to guide us to useful and interesting information. Once we had selected shots and texts, we finalized the design of the calendar in accordance with the overall vision of BORICA. As a last step we moved to the production of image, desktop calendar – pyramid, work calendar, notebook and a cup on the same topic.
United by the topic “Reserves in Bulgaria”, we managed to show a large part of the unique Bulgarian territories. Each of which is worth knowing by each of us. Enthusiasm and creativity guided us throughout the project. The excellent communication with the client, the photographers and the subcontractors were the basis of the inspiring advertising materials that we realized.
